Here's a quick quick sketch of what I'm thinking now!
Ohkayy so I made it digital now.
So the feel and mood that I'm going for is still the 1940's saloon type mood. Lots of play on specific lighting to highlight areas of interest. Some of the graphics that I came up with...
The focus as you go through, his life and timeline of events. I don't want to stray too much away from that trying to accomplish what sound looks like, specially jazz. But this exhibit should be lively and energetic. Id like to incorporate interactive areas of the walk through. Although Parker had a pretty tragic life after the age of 15, he also had a pretty energetic and lively like. I'd say he definitely lived everyday like it was his last..
Most of the time "museum" exhibits have spectacular light??? righhhhttt? But just imagine... you wanna know more about your much loved musical icon.. CHARLIE PARKER. So you hop in your car and head your happy... butt, to KC! Charlie Parker ready. The exhibit looks like a Jazz saloon on the outside.. maybe not what you were expecting. You step in and the mood inside is the same way. Now the objective is, what does sound look like? To rely the entire jazz saloon mood on the sound going on around them would be silly. So take away the music for a sec. What does JAZZ look like? That's what I'm going for.
To me jazz is fun and lively. It looks energetic and happy. It makes you feel like dancing around like you do when you think no body is watching make a fool out of yourself. Now the trick of this weekend.. how do I make this possible.? Tips/Ideas guys?
